The museum was established in 1880 by the Arts Society, and soon after, the Crafts School was opened, which then, along with the museum, moved to a newly built Renaissance building designed by Hermann Bollé. Zagreb Walking City Tour

Departing Zagreb in the morning, you'll head to Plitvice Lakes National Park. En route, your guide will provide insight into the area's history. After an hour, you'll reach Rastoke, a picturesque watermill village dubbed "the Small Lakes of Plitvice." Once a part of Napoleon's Empire, it sits beneath a 19th-century army magazine. After a brief stop for coffee, you proceed to Plitvice Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Your 4-hour tour explores the Upper Lakes, including hiking, a boat ride, and a scenic train journey. Highlights include "Veliki Slap," the park's tallest waterfall at 78 meters. Following the tour, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, featuring homemade specialties and regional wines(not included). Then, you'll return to Zagreb, arriving around 6:00 pm.

Plitvice Lakes Discovery

Departing from Zagreb in the morning, you'll be picked up from your accommodation for an unforgettable private day trip to Ljubljana and Lake Bled. On the way to Ljubljana, your driver will share insights into the area's history. Explore Ljubljana, known as "the capital of Slovenia," with a local guide if you choose. Discover baroque buildings, including St. Nicholas Cathedral, and visit the medieval fortress overlooking the city. Ljubljana boasts evidence of its rich history, including remnants of the Roman city of Emona. Pause for a coffee break and browse the farmers' market.

Next, journey from Ljubljana to Lake Bled, famed for its breathtaking beauty. Marvel at the stunning blue lake, the picturesque island church, and the medieval castle perched on a cliff. Take a "pletna" boat to the island and explore Bled Castle, which dates back to 1004. After the castle tour, indulge in Bled's famous "Cremeschnitte" cake before enjoying a traditional local lunch (at your own expense) at a charming restaurant. Delight in homemade specialties and local wines, including domestic cheese, Prosciutto, Pancetta, spicy salami, and more. After lunch, we'll continue our journey back to Zagreb, arriving around 6:00 pm.

Escapade To Slovenia

Your private driver meets you in the hotel lobby and together you start a 2-hour trip to the capital and the largest city of Slovenia - Ljubljana.

Upon arrival, you meet your local professional guide and start a 2-hour walking tour of the city's top-attractions. You explore the old town with its mix of Baroque, Art Nouveau and Renaissance architecrure styles. Visit the medieval Ljubljana castle which is the mail symbol of the city. As a highlight, you enjoy the scenic views over the city during a funicular ride.

After the tour you are taken back to your Zagreb hotel.

Trip to Ljubljana from Zagreb

In the morning you meet your guide-driver and head for unforgettable day trip. On the way to Trakoscan Castle you are taken through marvelous landscapes of vineyards, green hills and charming churches. Then you arrive to the Trakoscan Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Croatia. Trakoscan Castle dates back to the 13th-century, and it was renovated in the neo-Gothic style in the 19th century. You pay an inside visit to the castle and explore the natural wonders of the surrounding forest park.

You continue towards Varazdin famous for its baroque and rococo architecture, including the 17th-century Sermage Palace. You discover the old town fortification and the excitng central part of the town and find out why Varazdin is often referred to as “Little Vienna”. After the tour you are transferred to Zagreb.

Today after breakfast you meet your driver and guide who take you on a day trip to the neighboring country Slovenia to see its world-famous Postojna Cave Park as well as for a tour of the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.

Your first stop today is the Postojna Cave Park, offering a wonderful subterranean world abundant with unusual sculptures and animals. Together with your guide, you get to enjoy the cave's wonderful underground world of passages, halls and galleries abundant with cave formations. Not far from the cave, above the surface, you can admire the views of the Predjama Castle and the Pivka River.

After exploring Slovenia underground you continue your trip to Ljubljana, where you have a walking tour of the main attractions (from the outside).

After your tour you are brought back to your hotel in Zagreb and have the remaining part of the day free.
