San Pietro Basilica entrance in Rome
Located in the Vatican City in Rome, the St. Peter's Basilica is one of the most iconic sights not only in the Vatican but in the charming capital of Italy as well. Completed at the beginning of the 17th century, it is a significant pilgrimage site, named after one of the twelve apostles, Saint Peter. He was considered to be one the founders of the Catholic Church, and his remains were buried on the site of the basilica.
