Hanoi Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
Welcome to Hanoi, the Vietnam’s bustling colonial capital. Upon arrival, your driver transfers you to the centrally-located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip or start your independent exploration.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour & Water Puppet Show
Following breakfast, you meet your private guide and driver in the hotel lobby and start an 8-hour tour around the top-sights of Hanoi. This marvelous city is renown for its one-of-a-kind architecture and rich cultural heritage.

The first place on your agenda today is the Ho Chi Minh Complex, home to a museum and the mausoleum of the first president of Vietnam. Interestingly, the complex is even a pilgrimage site for locals as this leader has done much for the country to achieve independence.

Next on your list is the astounding One Pillar Pagoda. This unique Buddhist temple was built on a bearing pillar way back around the 1030s and still stands in the charming surroundings of a pond with lotuses.

Continuing your acquaintance with traditional Vietnamese architecture, you see the Temple of Literature, one more historic landmark built almost 10 centuries ago in honor of Confucius.

Today you also get to explore West Lake including the Tran Quoc Pagoda, this gorgeous construction which is almost 1500 years old and is the oldest one in Hanoi, as well as the Quan Thanh Temple, an 11th-century Taoist beauty built in the name of Tran Vo.

As a highlight of the day, you enjoy a 45-minute Water Puppet Show. You get to immerse yourself in the Vietnamese traditional art, observing a performance which preserves Hanoi's centuries-old theatrical legacy, with roots going back to Vietnam's village culture.

After the tour you return to the hotel and have the rest of the evening free.

Day 3: Drive to Halong Bay
Following breakfast you check out and have a shared transfer to Halong Bay which is UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There are numerous legends and myths about these age-old natural wonders and their impressive rock formations. You get to walk through one and see it with your own eyes.

Afterward, for some laid-back relax time, you make a stop at an island cove with a gorgeous sheltered white sand beach. Weather permitting, you have the opportunity to swim in the clear waters of the Tonkin Gulf.

Day 9: Arrival to Siem Reap
Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway to the ancient Angkor temples and gem of Cambodia!

Upon arrival, your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip or start your independent exploration.

Day 10: Sunrise at Angkor Wat & Other Temples
Prepare for a day of immersing in Cambodian historic legacy which makes you feel as though you've traveled back in time! Early in the morning you meet your guide and driver and have a 30-minute drive to magnificent Angkor Wat which you get to see in the first rays of sun at dawn.

Please, note: the tour starts at 5-5.30 am to avoid the heat of sunlight and the tourist crowds which often occur in the day time. Breakfast boxes are provided for this tour.

You begin your exploration with the marvelous Angkor Wat Temple, a noted UNESCO World Heritage Site. This religious complex, made up of several temples in honor of the Hindu God Vishnu, was built in the 12th century by the ruler Suryavarman II. Today you get to see the remnants of what was once a great civilization by visiting the biggest temple that can be found onsite. Interestingly, Angkor Wat is one of the largest religious complexes in the entire world, extending on a territory of over 200 sqm (2,153 sq ft)!

Next on your list is one more major attraction of the Siem Reap province, the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Your acquaintance with this historic and spiritual landmark begins with the South Gate, boasting adorned doors, stone figures and unique relics. While there, you also visit the temple of Bayon, the centrepiece of the city Angkor Thom. Dating back to the 12th century, this stone marvel is considered to be a sacred destination. It is believed to be a place where heaven and earth meet, and it was erected to honor a Buddhist king. You get to see the huge well-preserved carved stone faces on its exterior.

Among other places you see today at Angkor Thom are the famous terraces, including the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, as well as the pyramid-shaped temple called Ta Keo, translated as the Jewel of Crystal. You leave Angkor Thom via the North Gate, and make your way to the Preah Khan Temple, on the way you also see the Ta Prohm Temple.

After the 8-hour tour you return to the hotel.

Day 11: Tonle Sap Lake & Floating Villages
Following breakfast, you meet your guide and driver and take a 1-hour trip to Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia. A guided boat trip uncovers Cambodian rural life in floating villages, that strongly depends on the seasonal floods.

After a half-day tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. Alternatively, take an optional trip to a horse farm and enjoy horse riding.

Day 12: Departure
This is the final day of your amazing exploration of Vietnam and Cambodia! Following breakfast you check out from the hotel, and your driver takes you to the airport for your flight back home.

We hope you are leaving with bright memories and wish you a safe flight!
