Day 1: Arrival in Palermo
Welcome to Palermo - the stunning capital of Sicily. Upon arrival, you pick up your rental car and proceed to your centrally located Palermo hotel for check-in.
The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip.
Journey by car: the total distance to be covered is 18.5 miles (approximately 40 minutes pure driving).
Day 2: Palermo City Tour
After breakfast, you meet with your private guide to enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Palermo.
The capital of Sicily - Palermo - has been a crossroads for cultures and civilizations for 8 millennia. Together with your private guide, you visit the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel.
Then you walk along Villa Bonanno to the Cathedral in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, just to admire the exterior; continue along Vittorio Emanuele to the imposing Four Corners. Then on to the Tuscan fountain in Piazza Pretoria and just behind it see two splendid Arabo-Norman churches, La Martorana and San Cataldo.
After the tour, you return to the hotel. You have rest of the day free to enjoy Palermo on your own or start exploration of Palermo surroundings.
To enrich your stay in Palermo you may add a private food tour in the morning with a guide and discover local specialties and meals Palermo is famous for, or even join a cooking class. In just 30 minutes from Palermo, you may drive to Monreale to visit its Cathedral, known for the outstanding mosaics and Benedictine Closter.
You may also enjoy leisure time at the beaches of Palermo like Addaura, Mondello and Arenella and bathe at in the blue waters of Tyrrhenian Sea.
In the evening you may attend a performance at Palermo Massimo Theatre which is the third largest opera house in Europe, or take a guided tour including visit to the backstage and rooftop terrace.
Day 3: Architectural & Culinary Traditions of Segesta and Erice
Following breakfast, you meet with your private guide and start your journey by car to the Segesta, with its best-preserved Doric Temple, and the unforgettable medieval hilltop town of Erice.
Segesta once has been the most important regional town and trading center, and now it treasures two Classical monuments which you visit: the Temple of Segesta and the Greek theatre.
Then you proceed to Erice, a wonderfully preserved town offering the most breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Together with your guide, you discover the city's treasures. Erice boasts 60 churches, some dating back to the early 1300's, and two incredible castles, Pepoli Castle and Venus Castle. During the tour of Erice, you visit the Chiesa Matrice church.
One more highlight today is a visit to the local pasticceria for a tasting of the famous cannoli, Sicilian cassata, almond pastries and other delicious culinary masterpieces. This unique pasticceria is famous for its traditions and amazing taste of its sweets all around Italy and even beyond.
After the tour, you return to your hotel in Palermo and have the rest of the day at leisure.
Journey by car: the total distance to be covered for the round trip is 151 miles (approximately 4 hours pure driving).
Day 4: Departure
Following breakfast in your hotel, you check out and depart from Palermo.
You may take alternative route to reach Agrigento and explore the western shore of the Island. We recommend to visit Salt Museum located near Trapani with its incredible views, and may be even take a boat to Mothia Island to admire the remains of Punic ship.
Have a stop in Marsala and visit its wineries located right in the city. We can arrange for you a tour in the winery or cooking class, so you enjoy a freshly made pasta with local specialties at one of the villas.
Closer to Turchi Cliffs you may stop by Selinunte, which was an Ancient Greek city and houses remains of the Hera Temple. The distance for the alternative route is 303 miles ( approximately 5 hours)
Arrival in Agrigento
Upon arrival at your hotel, you have the evening at leisure.
Day 5: Valley of the Temples Tour
Today after a delicious breakfast at the hotel you explore famous Agrigento sights.
At the site you meet a local guide and have a 2-hour guided tour of one of the two highlights of the city - the splendid Valley of the Temples. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site where you visit the near-intact Temple of Concord, the best-preserved temple in the World and one of the symbols of Sicily.
After the tour you have the day at leisure.

Day 6: Departure
Following breakfast at your hotel, you check out and depart from Agrigento.
Day 6: Arrival in Taormina
Upon arrival at your hotel, you have the rest if the day at leisure.
Day 7: Sightseeing of Taormina
In the morning meet your private local guide. Together you take off to see the highlights of Taormina. During the tour you stroll along the main street, Corso Umberto I, and visit the Greco-Roman Theater that has Etna as its backdrop.
After the tour you return to the hotel. You have rest of the day free to enjoy Taormina on your own, spend time on the beach or dine in one of the local restaurants overlooking the bay.
In the afternoon you may take a cable car to reach Lido la Pigna or drive to Isola Bella beach - and enjoy sun bathing and lunch in the beach restaurant. We can arrange a boat trip along the coastline.
You may also choose a tour on 4x4 to Mount Etna or hike with a mountain guide.
This region is also famous for the movie Godfather, and you may explore the route including small towns where the motion picture was filmed.
Think about the cooking class at the local restaurant: pizza, pasta and other delicious recipes which remain the same generation by generation. One more place which is a must to visit in Taormina is Bam Bar to treat yourself with the best Granita probably in whole Italy.
Day 8: Day Trip to Mount Etna and Wine Tasting Following breakfast in the hotel, start an unforgettable road-trip to Sicily's main attraction - Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe.
Arrive at the access point - the Rifugio Sapienza on the southern slope located 6562 feet above sea level. Here you take a walk to visit the "Silvestri" craters and the latest new lava flows and craters from 2001-2003 and enjoy the desert moon atmosphere!
On the way down you also visit a local winery and taste local Etna wine.
*Note: Due to the weather conditions and fog, the view of Mount Etna can be limited.
Journey by car: the total distance to be covered for the round trip is 75 miles (approximately 3 hours pure driving).
Day 9: Departure
This is the last day of your amazing tour of Sicily! After breakfast you have a check-out and depart from Taormina to Catania Airport where you drop off your rental car.
Journey by car: the total distance to be covered for the one way trip is 42 miles (approximately 1 hour pure driving).

How to book
To book, all you need to do is to make a deposit of 20% of trip price. The 20% deposit is non-refundable, but you can always transfer it to another trip if your plans change. Just click on the red button in the top right corner that will take you to the Payment page. After you make your deposit, we will book all things that you chose.
Can I modify my trip after I booked
Of course! You can continue planning and even changing your trip to your heart's content up to 90 days before departure. Just keep in mind that all non-refundable hotels are set in stone.
