Day 1: Arrival and Jazz Tour
Welcome to New Orleans, one of the most colorful cities in United States! Your driver will meet you at the arrival hall and take you to your downtown hotel.
New Orleans is known as the birthplace of Jazz. This evening we will visit 2-3 Jazz clubs, each with its own style and character. All of the clubs are located inside the Historic French Quarter and we often spend about an hour in each venue. All of the clubs serve drinks, some also serve appetizers. All of the clubs offer seating and allow you to stay as long as you like. Jazz comes in many forms and each venue offers a different take on what is called traditional Jazz.
Day 2: French Quarter & Steamboat Natchez Cruise
In the morning, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby. During this walking tour you explore the highlights of the French Quarter and along the way your guide shares many of the stories that have formed the culture, architecture, and music of the Big Easy.
In this walking tour, you will experience this delightful neighborhood full of eccentric, fun-loving people, that spans three centuries of history! Discover why this section of New Orleans is so unique! History, architecture, restaurants, stories, and museums will acclimate you to the French Quarter, through the experiences of your own local guide!
The afternoon is reserved for a scenic New Orleans cruise on board of famous Steamboat Natchez. You will depart from the heart of the French Quarter and learn much of the history of origination of the city and its transportation lines. Enjoy more Jazz and Creole lunch on board.
Day 3: Garden District & Cemetery Tour
After breakfast, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby.
Today we take you to a Garden District, which is considered to be one of the most uniques neighborhoods in all of America.
The Garden District survives as a showcase of magnificent houses and gardens. Hear the stories of the cotton brokers and commission merchants who made their home in the Garden District.
The Garden District became a fashionable enclave of New Orleans’ most successful American citizens. Moving “Uptown” to the prestigious Garden District was considered the culmination of one’s achievements. This tour also includes time spent in Lafayette Cemetery. Originally part of the Livaudais Plantation, Lafayette Cemetery has been used for burials since at least 1824. Lafayette Cemetery #1 is the first and oldest municipal cemetery in New Orleans.
You will also pass the Magazine Street which is a major thoroughfare in New Orleans. The street took its name from an ammunition magazine located in this vicinity during the 18th-century colonial period.
After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.
Day 4: Oak Alley & Whitney Plantations
Today is reserved to discover Louisiana’s most famous plantations, Oak Alley and Whitney.
