Treasures of Provence Tour
Meet your driver-guide for a day trip devoted to the incredible Roman heritage of Provence.

In the 1st century BC, Julius Caesar and his Legionnaires defeated the Celts in Gaul, and the land they conquered became Roman Provincia. The region still boasts rich Roman presence, which lasted for about 500 years, and today you get to tour the best-preserved Roman monuments in the south of France.

One of the places you see today is the ancient UNESCO-listed Pont du Gard which is the highest aqueduct ever built in Roman times. You then proceed to Nimes, one of the major cities in Roman times, to visit the well-preserved Nimes Amphitheatre (entrance tickets included).

As a culmination of the tour you proceed to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a village and a renown French Wine Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC), the history of which is entwined with the history of Avignon Papacy. Here you visit a local winery and taste its rich wines.

After the tour, you are transferred back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

Tour to Alpilles
Meet your driver-guide for a day trip devoted to the exploration of the Alpilles, harmonious natural site and a chain of limestone mountains in the northwest of the Bouches du Rhône department, in Provence.

Les Alpilles, which is literary translated as the “Small Alps”, is a very secret and the most authentic part of Provence. The Alpilles has proudly preserved its traditions and the charm of a typically Provencal way and art of life.

You visit the St Rémy de Provence, a historic village built on one of the oldest archeological sites in Europe - Glanum. Together with your guide, you walk through its shaded boulevards and winding streets lined with private mansions from the Renaissance and the 18th century, beautifully restored homes, chapels, and convents. Here you can also find the Monastery of Saint-Paul de Mausolé, a gem of Provençal Romanesque architecture itself, that is famous for having taken in Vincent Van Gogh in 1889. It is in this monastery that Van Gogh painted 150 of his most well-known works.

Then you proceed to Baux de Provence, a picturesque Medieval village that is officially classified and labelled as "one of the most beautiful villages in France”. Here you can find carefully restored architectural masterpieces on every corner of the village’s cobblestone lanes and enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of Arles and the Alpilles that open up from the Citadel of Les Baux de Provence.

After the tour, you are taken back to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
