Your program overview

Day 1: Arrival
Welcome to the magnificent capital of Bavaria!

Upon arrival, you meet your driver and head for your centrally-located hotel. After check-in, the rest of the evening is free for you to enjoy Munich on your own.

Day 2: Munich City Tour
After breakfast, you meet your private guide and go on a fascinating 3-hour tour of Munich's beautiful old town to get an insight into the city's turbulent 850-year history.

With its exuberant atmosphere and vitality, Munich is one of Europe's great cultural centers. Enjoy your city tour around Marien Square, Church of Our Lady and Residenz Palace. In the ancient part of the town the world-famous Hofbrauhaus, the medieval town gates, and the colorful open-air market Viktualienmarkt are waiting for you. Munich’s elegant Maximilian Street offers views at the Bavarian Parliament, Deutsches Museum, Royal Palace and the Opera House. You also pass by Theatiner Church, Hall of Generals (Feldherrnhalle), and House of Arts, the Bavarian National Museum and the Angel of Peace.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3: Dachau Concentration Camp and Third Reich Tour
Following breakfast, you meet your driver-guide and drive 12 miles to the North from Munich to explore the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the site of the former concentration camp, well-known for being the first concentration camp of the Nazis. The camp served as a model for all the other camps and as a "school of violence" for the SS men.

During the tour, you walk through the historical buildings and the exhibition to discover the history associated with this dark place that became the center of all the camps throughout southern Germany and Austria, collectively called Dachau. Until April 29, 1945, when U.S. troops liberated the survivors of the camp, over 200000 prisoners have been registered at the main Dachau camp.

On the way back, together with your driver-guide, you stop at several historical sites connected with the Third Reich in Munich, where the Nazi Party was first founded.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 4: Tour to Eagle's Nest & Salzburg
Following breakfast, you meet your private guide-driver to take a scenic German Alpine Road (with photo-stops on the way). Kehlsteinhaus, as Eagle's Nest is called in German, is one of the few undamaged monuments of the Third Reich-era. Originally it was commissioned by Martin Bormann as a present to Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday. Upon arrival to Hintereck, you take a 30-minute bus ride and then proceed to the elevator that takes you up to the mountain top where Kehlsteinhaus is located.

Together with the guide-driver you have a short ride to Salzburg and have a chance to explore its historic center with the medieval fortress, baroque palaces, and churches which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

After the busy though exciting trip you return back to Munich.

*Please, note: Eagle's Nest is open for visitors from the middle of May to the middle of October.

During the guided group tour of the castle, you learn about the eccentric Fairy Tale King Ludwig II, a builder of this imposing landmark, his complicated life in Bavaria at the start of the Second Reich and his life-long friendship with the composer Richard Wagner.
