St. Petersburg, Russia

Inspired by the grandeur of European architecture during his travels, Russia's legendary emperor, Peter the Great, laid the first bricks of what later became Russia's breathtaking second capital a little over 300 years ago. With an appearance untypical of Russia, to this day, grand cathedrals, ornate gardens, lush palaces and royal venues, designed by the greatest European architects of the time, line the many canals of the city, all resulting in the most romantic destination in Russia that's often called "The Venice of the North". No visit to St. Petersburg would be complete without time spent in the Peter and Paul Fortress, an exploration of the glorious Hermitage and Faberge museums, a climb up to the St. Isaac's Cathedral or a visit to the colorful Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. And for an even more spellbinding experience, make sure to save some time for the residences of the Russian Tsars, including stunning Peterhof and the brilliant Catherine's Palace. ...

*Note: boat is weather-sensitive transportation and available from early May to mid October.

To immerse yourself in the Russian culture, in the evening, you enjoy a mesmerizing festival of the Russian spirit with the performance of the professional folk ensemble at the Nikolaevsky Palace. Let yourself get enchanted by the allure of Russian traditional accordion and balalaika as well as some rare and exotic instruments. Private transfers are included.

You then cross the Palace square to enter the General Staff Building which houses Hermitage's superb collection of Modern European Art, primarily consisting of the world-famous French impressionist and post-impressionist paintings. You also hear the legendary story of Hermitage cats that have been living in the museum's basement for the last centuries.

As a highlight of the day, after the tour, you have a fascinating time with your kids making a wonderful Russian souvenir to take home. During the 2-hour private master class, you create a traditional Russian matryoshka doll with your own hands! With the guidance of a professional artist, you go through the all steps of painting your figurine from choosing your unique doll set to creating your uncomparable design. All the materials for the class are included. Following the class, you enjoy a tea-break.

Moreover, all installations of the museum are accompanied by light and sound effects making your visit even more unforgettable!

After a lunch break, you meet your guide at the hotel lobby and travel to the outskirts of St. Petersburg to explore the former summer residence of Russian tsars and the gem of palace architecture - Peterhof.

During the tour you take a walk in the beautiful gardens, lavishly adorned with 176 fountains of various forms and styles and numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes.
