Joan of Arc: Orléans is perhaps best known for its association with Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc in French). In 1429, she successfully led the French army to break the siege of Orléans, a turning point in the Hundred Years' War against the English. Every year, the city celebrates her victory with the "Fêtes Johanniques," a two-day festival that includes parades, medieval marketplaces, and more.

Cathedral of Sainte-Croix: A Gothic-style cathedral that took centuries to complete. It's an architectural marvel with stunning stained-glass windows.

Historical Center: Orléans' old town has been carefully restored and is full of half-timbered houses, pedestrian streets, and charming squares.

Musée des Beaux-Arts: This is one of the oldest provincial museums in France. It has a vast collection ranging from European paintings from the 16th to 20th centuries to sculptures and decorative arts.

Loire Valley: Orléans is the gateway to the Loire Valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its historic villages, castles, and vineyards.

Maison de Jeanne d’Arc: This is a reconstructed house/museum on the site where Joan of Arc stayed during the siege of Orléans. It offers an interactive glimpse into her life and times.

Parc Floral de la Source: Located to the south of the city, this beautiful park offers gardens, lakes, and green spaces. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Le Pont George-V: An iconic historic stone bridge that spans the Loire River. It's a great spot for photos, especially during sunset.

Loire à Vélo: Orléans is part of the famous Loire à Vélo cycle route, which is a unique way to explore the Loire Valley. The entire route covers approximately 900 kilometers from the northeastern part of the valley to the Atlantic Coast.

Events & Festivals: Apart from the annual Joan of Arc festival, Orléans hosts various other events throughout the year, including the Orléans’ Jazz Festival and the Festival de Loire, which celebrates the river's maritime heritage.
